Sol Drop- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Single Camera Version Live Punk HFG40 Rode Videomic

Last year’s Ladyfest at Gilman had a ton of great bands. I went to see City Mouse, Dog Party, Sarchasm and Pity Party.. but I also saw Deseos Primitivos(Great band) and Sol Drop from Flagstaff, Arizona.
Here is that Sol Drop set. I only got a portion of Deseos Primitivos, I will probably post that one tomorrow.

Pity Party- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Live East Bay Punk Single Camera Version Canon HFG40

Here is another show that I shot multicamera and may edit one day. Pity Party are one of the more popular of the new wave of Gilman bands. They did a big tour last year and it looks like they just had to cancel an Australian tour because of the pandemic. What a bummer. It looks like they are selling an Australian tour shirt on their fb site to recoup losses.

Here is the next in the “one angle from my backlog of unedited multicams” series. Since 924 Gilman announced their closure today due to Coronavirus, I thought I would post a new to youtube video from there.
I really think these guys (and maybe get married) are the cream of the crop of the new generation of Gilman bands. Catchy songs, everyone sings, just great stuff.
They have stuff out on Asian Man. Check it out.

Vinnie Guidera & the Dead Birds- The Colony, Sacramento Ca 2/22/19 Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic Pro Ste

So I am stuck in Oregon on business travel so I will post until I get too tired here.
The Colony is back! I was so happy to step into the room and see a GOOD PA set up! AJ did a nice job with sound all night- that room is unforgiving. I was also happy to see City Mouse and to be one of the first to buy the new Sad Girlz Club CD!
Vinnie Guidera & the Dead Birds opened the show. When you see a band as talented as VGDB opening, you know you are in for a good night. I picked up the latest record “Shedding” which is available at their bandcamp site. (hint hint).

Sad Girlz Club released their first CD called Hard Feelings last month! They threw a party at The Colony a couple of weeks ago and it was PACKED. Check their bandcamp page to buy the album digitally, or the great bomb pop records website to pick up the actual disc (they have many more great discs as well)

City Mouse- The Colony, Sacramento Ca. 2/22/19 Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic Pro Stereo

City Mouse is one of my favorite bands- they put out my favorite album of 2017 and they have not been to Sacramento since the release of Get Right. This is the best I have ever seen them, even though I think some of the members were just filling in for this short west coast tour. SO GOOD. I think the 2nd guitar really helps fill out the sound. I loved it so much that I bought the LP and 7″ even though I already had them. I am cursed to never own a City Mouse shirt.

Bastards of Young- The Colony, Sacramento Ca. 2/22/19 Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic Pro Stereo

Bastards of young were second on the bill at Sad Girlz Club’s CD release show. This set was the BEST that I have ever heard the colony sound. In between songs, I almost yelled out “nice mix AJ” but I thought that would sound ridiculous.
This is a typical 30 minute set from B.O.Y., but just as tight if not tighter than usual. I realized that I have video recorded them a LOT over the past few years.
