I’ve been filming so many shows lately that my hard drive is full, so expect a flurry of posts from me as I clear stuff off. Here was Bloodtype Negative’s last show ever from this year’s bat guano fest.

I must admit, I did not keep up on *all* of the great music that was being put out about 10 years ago. I was still checking new stuff out, but it was more Grandaddy & Band of Horses & Two Gallants and less punk… so I missed out on great bands like Broadway Calls. WOW, what a great show- extremely melodic pop punk. Thanks to Sean Hills for bringing them to town which got me to listen to them before the show. Add another band to my “can’t miss” list. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30, 1 Canon HFG10 and a gopro hero4 silver behind the drummer. The gopro looks grainy due to my incompetence with the thing- first time using it. Thanks to Agelos for the edit, and to Jim Mclain for the gopro brightening job (it was unwatchably dark before).

I am really going to miss this band. This was billed as their last show ever, but they ended up playing a couple of days later at the café. I severely sprained my ankle so I could not walk/drive, so I missed the last last show. This one is a 4 camera job- HFG10 right next to stage (pointed up at Audrey), HFG30 (full stage angle), HFG30 (me shooting on a monopod) and a gopro hero4 silver behind Adam the drummer. Huge thanks to Agelos for the edit and to Jim McLain for helping brighten the gopro angle- it was the first time using the camera and I had no idea what I was doing. Thanks to AJ for the nice mix.

Here’s my friend Morgan Gee’s band The Community at Bat Guano fest. First time seeing them- good stuff!

For today’s On This Date in history, I found another video that I shot about 10 years ago that never made its way online. Perfect timing, as Bastards of Young are playing their first show in over a year at Old Ironsides on Sep 26. It is a record release show and you should go. I will try to make it, but the fractured wrist makes it difficult to do anything. Openers are good as well.

Brianna Lea Pruett, Red Jacket, Music Video (released by director Jim McLain, Sept. 2, 2016, the one year anniversary of her passing.)
Jim McLain worked with Brianna Lea Pruett to create this video for Red Jacket (song released on Gypsy Bells, Canyon Records, 2013, although at the label’s behest, the video was not officially released at the time of her death in 2015).
