Sheryl Crow- Soundcheck early 2000s, possibly January 2001 xfer from record company VHS tape

Here’s something totally different for you, from Todd Nakamine’s collection. Like I mentioned before, going through Todd’s tapes is always an unexpected treasure hunt. I pulled an Interscope records VHS tape of The Jam 2/10/03, which ended up just being previously released live clips, but this was at the end of the tape.
I can’t tell where it is from, but looking at the stadium, the vehicles, and the signage, I think it is somewhere in Europe or South America. If anyone recognizes the venue, please let me know.

I wish I was in a Boy Band- Rare Out of Print Sacramento Comp CD w/ Skirts, Shortie, Willknots, Luxt

Here’s a bonus post for you today. Another audio post from an Eggplant tape with the expected live show is coming later.
In order to afford all of these 4K cameras and high-end vintage cassette decks and VCRs for this hobby, I sell CD’s, Cassettes and LP’s as a side hustle. A few years back, I bought up a few thousand of The Audio Nerd’s CDs when they closed down The Annex. I have not had time or space to dig into these, but I finally did a box last night… and I found this absolute gem of a CD.
This has a bunch of the top Sacramento rock bands(ca. 2001) doing boy band covers. It’s exactly as cringy/awesome as you’d expect. I am listening the Magnolia Thunderfinger track, and of course they make it sound like them. Amazing.

Sick of it All- The Story So Far Official VHS 2001 Lossless xfer enhanced NYHC

Here is the last one from Dwayne Triggs’ collection. I wasn’t planning on posting this one, but I checked and the only post of this is a low res 240p deal, so I figured I’d put up this better quality version. There are a few minutes of this trimmed out, as it was blocked by a copyright holder. This also has some extra stuff at the end that is not on the other post- looks like a bunch of video clips after the credits.

7 seconds- Live in Japan 2001 Officially Released Home VHS Video Transfer from master tape hardcore

I usually shy away from posting officially released videos, but I am posting this one for 4 reasons:

  1. The tape is long out of print and rarely comes up for sale, even on Ebay
  2. 7 Seconds has obvious Sacramento connections
  3. This is a WAY better quality version than what is on youtube today. How could that one posted be so distorted? Yikes.
  4. It kicks ass. The band is in top form and the crowd is going nuts.

I realized that I have a bunch of stuff already xferred to DVD/BD that has never posted, so you are going to get a flurry of these over the next few weeks. Enjoy.

Low Flying Owls- Sparkling Jets Promo Video 2001? xfer from VHS Master Tape w/ JVC HRS9800 / Canopus

Low Flying Owls were local to Sacramento in the early 2000’s. I liked them, they were one of the best indie/psych bands in town. Then they moved to NYC and I lost track of them. This is a promo from their 1st release, “Take the Scenic Route” on Eddie’s The Americans are Coming label.
I think I see footage from Old Ironsides and The Crest’s lobby in there.
