Redd Kross is playing at Holy Diver tonight. This is a rare treat- I don’t think they have played Sacramento since 1997… and speaking of 1997, here is the 1997 Sacramento show for you to enjoy.
They played Melarkey’s with Sloan in July of 1997, touring their Show World LP. This is a DAT audio recording through the soundboard. The mix fluctuates quite a nit early on, but John Taylor did a nice job and was able to stabilize the mix.
Btw, I have been hearing rumors that they are opening their shows with “Pretty Please Me” by the Quick, same as this Melarkey’s show. It should be awesome!

For today’s collections post, I grabbed one of Neil Werries’ master videos. I posted this entire set before, but this time I attempted to synch the soundboard-fm audio (master audio thanks to Ross Weyman) to the video. It worked for about half the songs, so that’s what you get today.
If you want to see/hear the entire thing in this quality, please get involved! The Sac Music Archive is a 501c3 nonprofit and you will receive a tax deduction when you volunteer! Contact me through the website if you are interested. For this, we would need someone who is good at synch 2 analog sources (audio/video) together.

Audio/video synch via Pluraleyes 4
Well shoot, I have not posted this late for a while. I hope this one still gets noticed because it is PEAK Old 97s. I loved that 1997 tour, it was so much fun. This one come from Neil Werries collection, shot by NH. Neil shot an angle at the back of the venue.
We COULD make this a multicam along with 3 or 4 of Neil’s other videos, if you can help us time stretch/match the angles. The problem with old analog gear is that they tend to drift apart from each other as the show progresses. If you are good at aligning audio to video, you can really help. Please reach out via the website or (my name) at hotmail.com. Last time I tried this, I got hacked and my old fb account was disabled. Let’s hope it goes better this time. Please reach out- we could use your help.
Here is the list of analog multicams that need alignment:
old 97s barleypalooza 6/1/97
Gourds barleypalooza 6/1/97 (one angle is already up on the channel)
Old 97s- fitzgeralds 7/4/97 (2 angles)
Silos- lexington ky 7/26/97
Silos- Louisville Ky 7/25/97
I think that’s all of them.

Here’s something a little different for today. Neil Werries caught these guys opening up the Jayhawks show at Taste of Chicago back in 1997… and they still appear to be active! That’s amazing.

I don’t have much time to make funny today, so here’s the video. The Jayhawks, outdoors, right off Neil Werries’ master tape! There is also an FM broadcast of the show, but of course pluraleyes won’t synch it so I need to figure out how to get it done. This will do for now, still sounds good.

I have been working for about the past month to get a new/improved VHS capture setup working, which would also decrease the number of computers from 5 to 4 out here. It has been quite an ordeal, but it looks like I got it dialed in as of today. I captured this one earlier in the week (just to see if the setup was working ok) so if there are any A/V synch issues, please let me know. I can’t watch this much jam band at once.
I taped this one for the 2 Son Volt songs from HORDE in Buffalo, but this includes a bunch of HORDE acts, recorded at various stops from the 1996 tour. Includes Me’Shell NdegéOcello and Son Volt from Buffalo NY 8/20/96; Medeski, Martin and Wood/Leftover Salmon from Phoenix 7/24/96; and Blues Traveler/Rusted Root from Chula Vista 7/26/96. Good people watching on this one- you can almost smell the patchouli through the screen.
