Red Hot Chili Peppers- Arco Arena, Sacramento Ca 4/8/96 xfer from 8mm master Enhanced

Here’s another Sacramento/Central Valley based video from Gary Shurtleff. Check out his YT channel @bootlegcowboys which has a ton of bay area stuff that he filmed.
Here is his capture of the peppers’ show in Sac, back on the One Hot Minute tour.

Slobberbone- Border’s Books, Dallas Tx 4/6/96 xfer from DAT Audience clone Acoustic In-store

Here’s a fun one for On This Date in History. Let’s keep the “Alt Country bands playing at retail establishments” theme going. First The Bottle Rockets at Best Buy, now Slobberbone at Border’s.
The recording was super dynamic, so I did another one of my janky volume boosts throughout different parts of the show. If you hear sudden volume drops, that’s my doing.
I got this from the taper, but I can’t recall who from Dallas was taping on DAT back then. Maybe lowdog (George Savage) or this guy named Riley who did a bunch of Old 97s stuff around this time.

Love and Rockets- Tour Rehearsals April 1996? xfer from Hi8 Master tape

Here’s another video that would not exist without Steve Rogers’ level of access as an American Recordings employee. Not only did he film a Slayer rehearsal, he also did a Love and Rockets one from around the same time frame. Kinda cool to see Love and Rockets without the light show.

Man is the Bastard- Huntington Beach Library 4/96 xfer from 1st gen VHS tape

Here’s another one from Wayne Triggs’ stack of VHS tapes. There is a shorter, lesser quality version of this show shot from a different angle on YT. This one looks a lot better but sounds just as lousy. I wonder how they were able to get booked at the library.
