Live Concert Video

Kai Kln- Live KDVS Studio A, Davis Ca. 1/11/90 xfer from reel to reel master

Here’s a fun one- I got these from former band manager Marc Malakie last year. We had talked about making them a free download for the Jerry Perry benefit, but we ran out of time. I bought a reel to reel machine to transfer this (and future reels, and then had to get it refurbished for $400! So, enjoy this $550 transfer.

Audio Live Performance

D.I.- Kutska’s Hall, Howard Wi 1/2/90 xfer from master cassette Casey Royer Devo

Here’s a tape that jumped out at my from Jason Ross’ collection. I am a big DI fan, so I figured I would pop this one in and listen while working. It is a decent audience recording done with an Aiwa HS-J15 and a custom mic. It sounds a bit like a Sony Pro Walkman D3 recording. I caught DI in June of this year and they were playing a very similar set.

Audio Live Concert

Uncle Tupelo- WJUL, University of Mass, Lowell MA 1990 Live & Int xfer from band archive audiotape

and here is the post intended for today. This one took some detective work- the DAT was labeled vaguely and the old WJUL call letters were taken over by a classic rock station in Georgia.
This is a really good quality “live in the radio studio” session plus an interview that isn’t painful! Well done!

Grace Period- Demo 1990 xfer f/master demo tape Hard Rock Glam Los Angeles?

This one is from Anonymous 3’s collection and I have no info on the band at all, beyond what you see here. No listing on discogs, no Shazam ID, no Youtube Copyright ID. Nothin’. If anyone has any info, please reach out. I do like it more than most from this genre.

Filth- Practice no date xfer f/unknown gen cassette Lookout Records Punk

I’m late! You are still getting 3 posts today. The first one is from the latest batch of tapes from Robert Eggplant. I just dropped his tapes off in Pinole yesterday. We still have enough stuff from Robert to last years, even with the faster collections schedule now.
What you see is what I know. I don’t know when or where this took place. It sounds like a small studio or 4 track recording.
Yes, I cram tapes that look like this into the Nakamichi Dragon. Plays them like a champ.

Oh whoops. Only the first 18min is Filth. I forgot to trim the rest of the tape.

Chris Applegren- Wild in the Streets Radio Show, KMUD Garberville early 1990s tape 2 xfer f/low gen

More early New Years Day fun for you all- this time from Arica Pelino’s collection. This is the 2nd in a series of 3 radio shows that were recorded. I think the 3rd one has some now-famous guests…

Larry Livermore makes an appearance midway through.

Soul- Demo Los Angeles Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Band xfer from master demo cassette

This one is from Anonymous 3’s collection. I had a hard time finding anything about the band so I asked Anon and he helped me find a facebook group about the band.

It looks like the band was active in the 1990’s and they had 1 song on an EMI promo compilation (shown here). The band consisted of Kevin Roentgen and Tom (last name?) and the rest of the people in the band (and on this demo) are unclear. Any help is appreciated.

Kevin started up that facebook group and a youtube page which had seemed to be popular, but there have been no new posts for almost a year now.

No song titles. If anyone knows them, help me out! Thanks
