We have a new contributor to the archive, and I still can’t believe that this exists. Laura Martinez saw the KCRA TV segment about the archive last year and sent me an email. It turns out that we are only about 5 minutes drive away from each other. Laura has an impressive collection of local Glam/Metal demo tapes, plus she filmed a few shows herself. This is one of them.
Macabre Shocks were a glam band from Sacramento who had the following members:
Ronnie Slyde – Vocals
Gary Ganat – Lead Guitar
Mike Harris – Rhythm Guitar
Mike Caboy – Bass
Myke Mychaelson – Drums
They self-released 1 album in 1986. The band is somewhat legendary and a decent copy of that LP goes for about $80 now.
Live material of theirs is almost impossible to find. There are a total the THREE songs (not shows) posted to youtube by the band, and that’s it. This 10+ minute clip is pure gold.
Thanks Laura and thanks Robert Wellington (KCRA) for the help in getting these over to the archive.
