Surrogate Brains- Downtown Rehearsal Studios, Sacramento 6/24/88 Brightened version

The first video camera I bought was an Aiwa VP-88 back in 1988. I bought it on clearance at Montgomery Ward, and since I was clueless, I thought that all cameras operated basically the same way. The VP-88 had TERRIBLE low light sensitivity, which is why so many of my videos are very dark. This show only had 1 light bulb for lighting, so it was impossible to see. Jim McLain worked some magic (seriously MAGIC- HOW does he do this??) and you can now actually watch this video, rather than a black blob! Thank you Jim!!

SURROGATE BRAINS WITH NICK SLURB – “ACHTUNG!”

….THIS IS ONLY A TEST…… Nick Slurb playing with members of Surrogate Brains at a downtown rehearsal studio in Sacramento, CA in June 1988. Note: This video was originally recorded in a very dark environment. The video had to be brightened to even see the actual performance. Hence the quality. This was uploaded to show to members of the band Surrogate Brains.

Surrogate Brains- Demo Late 1980’s Audio Only

Whenever someone asks for something from my personal collection that qualifies for a Sac Music Archive post, I usually post it after getting band permission (if possible). Thanks to Alex Botkin’s request, here is Surrogate Brains’ demo from the late 80s. Steve Rogers from the band believes that this was recorded at Gilman St, back when they did demos. Some tracks were used in compilations and split 7″s.
I received this from Ess Maher(I think) back in the 80s and my copy cuts off. Do you have the complete demo?
