Here’s another mid-90s D.I. show, this time from the Barn in Riverside. This place was HARD to find, and I recall that we had to walk forever to get there. I also have a DAT soundboard of the show that may be worth synching one of these days.

Man, this one was a tough one to prepare. I rebalanced it four times before being ok with it. It’s an odd mix- guitar and vocals are up in the mix, snare and bass buried.
I am a huge fan of the band- I have been recording their shows for 35(!) years. This one was a special set- when you see D.I. you usually get 45-60 minutes of the hits. On this night, they did songs off of State of Shock (which is rare in itself), but they were also writing new material that apparently never saw the light of day. There is a song in the set called Talk Show Murders that I don’t remember being released anywhere. It makes sense- the band didn’t release their next album of original material until 2007- 12 years later with a completely different lineup.
I shot video of about half the set. I need to get this synched up to it.

It has been fun working through Todd Nakamine’s VHS tapes. This one is one that I copied for him back in the 90s, and then my copy went missing.
There is a reason why this one went uncirculated for so long.. because you can’t see anything! I spent way too much time trying to make it viewable but I don’t think it’s much better. I worked up 3 versions for you by using the filters in virtualdub to attempt to help:
If you hate the first version, forward it 20 minutes to the next one.
