Babes in Toyland- WDRE Underground Lounge, NYC 5/30/95 xfer from pre-fm DAT soundboard mast

Here’s another Ebay score- Babes in Toyland live in the studio, recorded for radio broadcast. This is clearly the pre-broadcast soundboard recording. There were big gaps of silence on the DAT from when they were broadcasting commercials or something. I did miss one bit of silence at about 26min. Keep listening, they do come back. The mix on that first (real) song could use some work- vocals are buried.. but the rest is good.
By the way, even though I keep posting stuff I bought off Ebay, that doesn’t mean that I am running out of material. I still have my 4,000 cassettes, 2,000 DATs, and 1,000 VHS tapes work through.. along with Jason Ross’ collection of 1,000+ VHS and cassettes, Anonymous’ cassette masters, Radley & Dal Basi’s stuff and many more. These just happen to be in front of me today.

Luna and Babes in Toyland- San Antonio Community Cable 1992 xfer f/master VHS tape Interview & Live

My video transfer setup is still giving me trouble, so let’s pull this one out for today. You should get a Chris Eng video tomorrow- and it is a rare one! I hope I can keep up with this “collections video every day” thing. Lossless capture has been finicky and it is time consuming when it goes well… I think it is time to stand up a 2nd lossless capture setup.

Craig Hilmer taped this off TV when he lived in San Antonio and mailed it to me back in 1992. Really neat interview and live footage. Are there any other video interviews of Luna from this time frame? I don’t recall seeing one.

Babes in Toyland- KDOC Request Video, Anaheim Ca 1992? xfer from master vhs tape

It’s after midnight in this time zone, so I am cheating a bit and posting Saturday’s Video now. This is another one from Todd Nakamine’s collection of VHS tapes. It looks like he might have only caught half of the show because I see other, lesser quality versions of this on yt but they are 11 minutes long vs. The 5 minutes we have here.
Nice quality.
