Johnny Rad & the Eggplants- Skate Punk Vol 2 Reunion, Las Vegas NV. 5/24/14 Live Mulitcam Sbd

This is the only set of the day where the soundboard mix is decent enough to use. I don’t see any multicam videos of them on youtube, so this may be a rare treat.

Watermarked so that dick head over at “skate rock” youtube channel can’t rip it from youtube, apply some effect and repost. Please don’t steal my videos. Thanks.

Dephinger- Skate Punk Vol 1 Reunion, Las Vegas Nv. 5/24/14 Multicam with soundboard audio Scottsdale

If I remember correctly, Dephinger were the first band to play the reunion show, and they were definitely entertaining! After the show, they were giving me the hard sell on a split 7″ with JFA. I think they were trying to get gas money to get back to Arizona.
PS: They might have been on drugs. Judge from the first song and the look on their faces. 🙂

Minus One- Skate Punk Reunion, Las Vegas Nv. 5/24/14 Quasi Multicam Live

Here is a newly edited video for you. Only the first 10 minutes is multicam on this one, and then it moves to the stationary camera in the back. By the time Minus One came on, I was totally drained. I flew in with my family the day before. We hit the pool right when we arrived(side note- don’t EVER take your 3 year old to the MGM grand pool. People making out and beer bongs going on while we try to navigate the lazy river), then I was up until 3am at the Naked Raygun PRB afterhours show. Then up for the 3 year old’s wakeup time (7am?) and more swimming, then over to the TWELVE HOUR long show. This was toward the end of it. I could not hold the camera up anymore. I got 10 minutes of the set from the stage and had a rest.

Judge-924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 5/23/14 Multicam NYHC SXE w/SBD audio part 1

Man, this was a wild show. I was going to film from the stage and I wisely decided to film from behind the merch table. As you can see, it was one of the only safe places in the venue. Lighting is uneven at Gilman, but I did the best I could. Here are all the specifics: Camera 1: Canon HFG30 on a monopod Camera 2: Canon HFG10 mounted to a ladder Camera 3: JVC GZ-EX250 filmed by Rodney Parker Filmed by Shayne Stacy & Rodney Parker SBD Audio captured by Shayne Stacy Edited, mixed and authored by tromster Special Thanks to Obidiah Stephen Bowling

CJ Ramone- Punk Rock Bowling, LVCS, Las Vegas Nv. 5/23/14 HD Master w/Rode Videomic Pro w/STEVE SOTO

Like I mentioned yesterday, I have not had time to digitize much of anything lately due to work. Hell, I couldn’t even eat yesterday. Banana and protein bar day. So no time means digging for stuff that is fast & easy to post.
Here is one that I forgot to post back when I filmed it- a CJ Ramone set, opening for the mighty Naked Raygun at PRB 2014. I was floored to pull out this bluray and find that Steve Soto is playing bass for him. Man, what a nice surprise that was.
Lots of Ramones songs, and a lot off of CJ’s self-released Reconquista album. I tried to get a board recording as well, but the new soundguy wasn’t having it.

Naked Raygun- Punk Rock Bowling, LVCS, Las Vegas NV 5/23/14 Multicam with Rode Videomic Pro Stereo

I thought I had posted this one years ago, back when I filmed it. Man, this doesn’t seem like 7 years ago. I got to this show WAY too early and while I was waiting, I was accosted by 2 or 3 drunk “old school” punks who wanted to punch me because they didn’t like my shirt. I guess you can never joke about the sacred DK logo.. who knew?
Anyway, the sound is only OK on this one. I asked the soundman for a board feed and it was his first night there and he was nervous about patching someone in. The room had high ceilings and the sound was muddy. You should hear the DPA mic audio for this one- total mud.
This was in that span where Pierre had stopped playing with the band regularly and before Fritz, so we have Pete Mittler on bass for this one. Good stuff.
This was one of those nighttime club shows during PRB. The place had a country theme- “Las Vegas Country Saloon” is the full name.

Camper Van Beethoven- Empire, Sacramento Ca. 5/13/04 DV Master Video w/ Soundboard Matrix Audio

Here’s a BONUS POST today. Since I have posted loud and noisy for 2 days in a row, I thought that I would share something a bit different. Also, I got to see Cracker last night for the first time since this night 17+ years ago. Last night was great and I will be posting some 4k footage while we wait for the full 5 camera edit (in 1080p) to be done.

Man, the board tape came out so good on this show. Thanks to Jim Mclain for recording the board and doing the synch and stabilization work on the video

Recorded by: Shayne Stacy (Video) and Jim McLain(Audio)

Audio recorded by Jim with AKG mics + soundboard through a Behringer mixer

Equipment used: Consumer JVC DV camera and Minidisc recorder

Zero Boys- Press Club, Sacramento Ca 5/12/14 Canon HFG10 & Rode Video Pro Stereo Mic

Here’s that time when The Zero Boys came to our town and only about 50 people showed up. I am sure glad I did, because they were amazing. The guitarist absolutely shreds. This was supposed to be a multicam, but the second camera was on a stage tripod and the vibration is so bad that we could not use it. The first 45min is the G10 angle (sorry for the funky angle- no good place to film at press), second is the super shaky Canon HFM30 angle. Enjoy.
