The Cavemen- Demo Help needed! Lost Media? Sacramento?

Here’s another mystery tape, this time from Dal Basi’s collection. What you see in the photo is all I know about the tape. Most of Dal’s tapes are Sacramento/stockton/bay area based. Could it be the New Zealand Garage Thrash band? They did play Sac in 2019…. Nothing shazams and the Youtube algorithm doesn’t know either. Feedback requested.

The Knockoffs- Capitol Garage, Sacramento Ca Early 2000s? xfer f/low gen VHS tape w/ Matt K Shrugg!

I have another amazing Sacramento artifact from Ken Doose’s collection for you today. We are not 100% sure of the lineage, but it is definitely a pretty low gen VHS tape. Ken thinks this is from the early 2000s, which lines up with the venue’s existence, but why is Danny playing bass and there is no Bobby or Big Tom? Hm.
This is an awesome set with a bunch off 12 suckerpunches and a choice ramones cover. Plus, Matt on drums? And GB(greg baxter) on guitar!

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes- Radio Promo for KWVA w/Incredibly Strange Wrestling ISW Spike Audio

This is the last thing I have digitized from Barry Ward’s audiotapes for now, so you get this short little thing today. Not only was Barry in early incarnations of GWAR, but he was apparently in Me First and the Gimme Gimmes back then as well! A true punk rock renaissance man. RKL, MDC, Crosstops, Hotbox, GWAR, Me First… I know I am forgetting some.

Tail- Demo xfer from master demo tape unknown lost media Hard Rock Metal

This one is from Anonymous 3’s collection, and that’s about all I know about it. Scotty, can you shed any light on this band? Who were the band members, year demo was recorded, where was the band from, etc.

Wayne Kramer- John Sinclair Benefit, Spaceland, Los Angeles Ca 2/28/00 xfer from 1st gen VHS Tape

More VHS transfers now that Adobe is working again! This is from Todd Nakamine’s collection. Like I mentioned before, it is always a fun treasure hunt going through Todd’s tapes.

This one doesn’t have any date or lineage listed, but it is probably a 1st generation copy off the master. I looked through newspapers dot com and could not find any mention of a John Sinclair benefit at Spaceland. Maybe Dan Johnson can help ID it- he is the man with the Kramer Spaceland residency audio recordings! From Wayne’s appearance, it was probably late 90s or 2000’s.

Rosemary’s Billygoat- Geekfest, Benicia Ca xfer from low gen VHS tape Mac Sabbath Toys that Kill

After today’s surreal happenings, I figured I would wait until tonight to post. This one seems appropriate- a truly bizarre devil worship-parody band. Members went on to play with/become affiliated with Toys that Kill and Mac Sabbath.
This one is from Robert Eggplant’s box of videos. Those are all done and digitized and I handed them back to him in person yesterday. Now I have a whole new bag of stuff of his to plow through, along with an unreal collection of video masters from Guerin Myall. Yesterday was the best pickup and delivery day in a loong time. Thanks guys!

Recorded by: ?. I don’t think this is an Eggplant master because the dub seems to cut in a few seconds into the tape.

The Enemies- Live Pre- Dave Ed xfer from low gen audio cassette Lookout Records Punk

Happy Holidays everyone! I really appreciate all of you who come and check out all of this stuff I post daily. Thanks to all of the people who have trusted me with their tape collections as well. I really enjoy this and you are helping spread joy to others, and it elevates my mood too. I hope everyone had a good day.
Here is one from Arica Pelino’s collection of audio tapes. One from her brother Mike- this is probably Mike’s tape, or right off Mike’s master. It’s short- cuts after only a song and a half. It sounds really good- I would have guessed that it was a studio recording if it wasn’t labeled live.

Bobby Joe Ebola & the Children MacNuggits- Geekfest, 924 Gilman, Berkeley ? Date xfer f/1st gen sbd

It’s Robert Eggplant on a Monday again. This tape did not have much info- it just said “Bobby Joe Ebola Rumah Geekfest”. That set off a search for a Geek Fest flyer or listing with both bands on it, but there is nothing online. Since it’s a board tape, I think it is at Gilman, but possibly not.
If you were not aware, BJE&TCM are back and creating a new album! They had a successful kickstarter campaign and are pressing up vinyl. The campaign is closed, but I would follow their bandcamp for news on the release.

Lloyd Miller- Middle Eastern Music xfer from master independently released audio cassette

Since it’s a holiday and people are probably busy partying and blowing stuff up, I figured we would mix it up today and post something way different than usual. This one come from James R Edmonds’ collection- yep, he sends me tapes like this along with 7 secongs, agression, and fang. He’s a man of eclectic tastes.
