This video kinda bummed me out. This show was packed and they were amazing… but since my Sony TR81 camcorder tends to have lousy audio, I decided to plug in my coresound mics in to the camera… BAD IDEA. The camera was not made for the mics so it was even more distorted. You can still make out the songs, so here you go.
Collections post time- this one from Scott Hamilton, who sent over a small box of (mainly) Muffs stuff. Thanks Scott!
Kim passed away today, 6 years ago today. I remember the shock of seeing the post and not being able to concentrate on work. I still can’t bring myself to listen to that last album. I need to do it soon.
The quality on this one was pretty poor. It was all high end, but not much distortion so I was able to fix it up and make it listenable through Soundforge EQ and Izotope rebal. Thank goodness for software!
The tape was labeled as Middle East Cafe 5/25/95, but I have a hard time believing that they would play 2 shows right next to each other, a week apart.

Now that the video setup is working again, we can dig into some other collections that have been sitting here. This one is from Anonymous 2’s collection. He has mostly audio tapes but he also has some videos. I must admit that I do not know who Mark Thaldorf is and google doesn’t give any info either, but this is the only video I have ever seen from the Heritage Festival. The fest was a pretty big deal- major acts would headline, it was sponsored by Tower Records and it happened every year in the mid to late 90s.

Here is another one from that Saki Honma tape. There were no details around where Frank is performing here- I bet that some Frank Black fans will be able to tell me where this is from, or if this is a rare one. Let me know.

I posted this a week or so back, and there was some confusion about the tape- we thought that it was a See More Glass tape titled Bus. It is actually a Split tape starting with Bus, with See More Glass starting at about 22:00.
This is not the See More Glass (or Bus) from West Germany, with multiple releases on Discogs. This See More Glass is from Davis. There is not much info about Bus online as well- you can see the band members names on the insert, they were also from Davis, and this session was recorded by Roger Kunkel from Thin White Rope. Cassette from Matt Mason’s collection. Band members and tracklist shows at about 14:00 in. I have NO IDEA how I made 2 pictures happen in the program, or why it switches at 14:00! I need to figure out what I did so I can do it again.
