I had not heard of this band before, so here is Eddie Jorgensen’s account: High Gain was a shortlived hard rock / somewhat metal group from Grass Valley that often played with Kai Kln, Walrus, God Squad and countless others. Singer Dave also played with Victims Family / former Accolades drummer Tim Solyan, Hellbender / forrmer Accolades bassist Eric Lee, and Greg Clecak (from Clee) on guitar
Side note- you don’t see too many TDK D30’s out in the wild.

The best Integrity lineup featuring Dwid and the Melnick Brothers. check out the “mike” hogs. This was filmed by me at the Cattle Club. Sock also played that night.
I was planning on posting a No Kill I tape today, but even when I set the age controls for 18+ on youtube, facebook would show the thumbnail, and that won’t do at all. You’ll need to see it to understand. If you want to see the planned post, go to http://www.sacramentomusicarchive.com and search “no kill I”. Instead, I am posting a new and improved version of Xeroxica. This is the post that prompted Jason Dezember to contact me, and set the wheels in motion for Scott Miller to send me some tapes. Thanks again guys.
Here is my original post about this tape: Since I have been locked down and not going to shows, local bands have not been represented enough lately. Here is a bunch of locals to make up for it. I have been looking for this tape for YEARS and finally scored a copy on discogs a few months back. I excitedly popped it into the Nak Dragon and it sounded AWFUL- like you were listening with a pillow over your head. I figured it was the Nak’s auto adjustments so I waited for my new backup deck to be refurbished and… it sounds pretty much the same. I guess that’s just how it sounds. This is probably the most comically lo-fi “officially released” recording I have. Well done! I wonder if Secret Center Records went to the bands and asked them to spend no more than $10 on production of each song. It does get a little better toward the end- the No Kill I and Knockoffs songs are not too bad, production wise.

Sorry for the late post today. Work has been hellish. Here’s yet another cool video from 25-plus years ago, courtesy of Craig Babb. All of these Galaxy Trio shows have made me a fan. Special appearance by tricky dick.

Here is another amazing video from Craig Babb’s collection. I totally missed the boat on this band, so this was a really cool video to transfer. I jumped on discogs to pick up some of their releases and just about everything is out of print and expensive. Excellent psych rock.

Here is a nice quality video from Craig Babb’s collection- Galaxy Trio, opening for Dick Dale at La Luna in Portland Or. We don’t know the exact date, Craig thinks it is from around 1995.. and a quick setlist.fm and concert poster search shows that he played there in 1994 and 1996. Please let me know if you know which show Galaxy Trio opened.

I had hoped to post a video today, but the one I had planned has turned into a lot more work than anticipated. Instead, here is the 2nd demo by Release from Eric Mcintire’s collection. Release featured Aaron Zimpel (Anvil Chorus) on guitar and vocals, and Gary Wendt (the mighty Sacrilege BC) on guitar.
