Thelonious Monster- 9:30 Club, Washington DC 2/20/93 Xfer from 1st gen VHS tape Enhanced Bob Forrest

Long-time friend Ross Weyman (traded a ton of Alex Chilton and WXRT tapes with him in the 90s) sent me a box with 3 VHS tapes. This is one of them. This video would not exist, but he politely asked/begged the filmer to get this for him. Looking at youtube, this appears to be the only 1993 full set out there. How cool is that? Thanks Ross!
If you are not familiar with the band, check out the doc “Bob and the Monster”. It’s a good one.

Thelonious Monster- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca 8/11/89 xfer from 8mm master tape Bob Forrest

Here’s yet another show I filmed in 1989, which took the “On This Date” project to figure out that it hasn’t been uploaded yet. This one is a good candidate for a lossless transfer and enhancement because it is pretty dark. I think that Anonymous had his D6 by then and audio taped as well. I need to check.

My favorite part of the entire show was the drum solo. I usually hate self-indulgent solos, but the drummer’s spin on his stool was perfect. I remember this show running super late, as many Berkeley Square shows did.
