Gabi and the Mario keep bringing the old punk bands that used to bypass Sacramento to the Blue Lamp, and I know a lot of us old guys who can’t take driving to SF on a weeknight appreciate it! This show was so much fun. This is one of Gabi’s favorite bands and watching her happily singing along was priceless. Happy you got them to play in sac on their last time here.

I saw the Square Cools about a year and a half ago at the hideaway, and they were good… but not like this. This show SMOKED. I guess they summoned the punk energy from the old days for this one! Sorry for the shaky camera work at the beginning. I just walked in when they started.

Quiet Riot rage @ Ace Of Spades in Sacramento, California 09/08/17 with openers Anarchy Lace & Roswell. Final Sacramento performance of original Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali who passed August 20, 2020. Filmed by Zoran Theodorovic @ Capital Chaos TV

Bands from Scotland don’t come through town and play small venues often, so it was pretty cool to see Murderburgers playing at the Café. Fraser is a hilarious frontman, and the band is tight. As they say in their bandcamp bio, “We like to tour, it keeps us poor”. Please check them out on tour and toss them a few bucks.

City Mouse is one of my favorite of the new crop of pop punk bands popping up. Probably them and Civil War Rust being the top 2. Miski (Vocals) is GREAT and has such a unique style. They have a new album coming out next month- please go check them out on tour. They had to ditch their van in Colorado, so they are touring in a rented minivan. They could use your support. Also, Fraser from Murderburgers on drums! Speaking of someone who could use your support, you should go to the café colonial sometime. Great people and great food. I had the fry bread (matt marrujo’s family recipe). It is excellent- kinda like a crispy gordita. A full meal AND 1 beer set me back something like $12. CHEAP.
