I am almost done with the first couple hundred VHS tapes from Todd Nakamine’s collection. Time to head down for another car full. Transferring his tapes is fun because it is so unpredictable. Just this past week, I did HR Pufinstuf, Howard stern, a bunch of record company promo stuff and the cheers cast on the tonight show. It’s definitely a dredging for gold kind of exercise.
Anyway, this one doesn’t appear to be online in its complete form. I saw `1 song on a reel somewhere, but this is 2 songs and an interview.

Well shoot. I moved a bunch of stuff to the new archive building and I was so wiped out that the day kinda got away from me. Tapes and discs are heavy in bulk. I have 3 posts today(not including “on this date”) so let’s get going.
This is from Anonymous 2’s collection of local and regional demos. This band was based in Denver, Co and moved to L.A. in 1992. It’s likely that they sent this demo to Anon 2 after moving to L.A.

Great Satan at Large- Banned Tuscon Az Cable show- TV News and Interviews after backlash 1991
Alright, it’s time for the Patreon Voter’s Choice! Aaand I am pretty confident that the patrons had no idea how offensive this was. Haha, sorry everyone. I put a description on the poll like “insane banned Tuscon cable show” without mentioning all of the atrocities outlined in the wikipedia article below.
So instead of posting the actual show and getting my main channel nuked, I decided to get creative with this. I am only posting the news reports and backlash from the show, UNLISTED, on my personal channel. Unlisted because could you imagine if one of my kids’ soccer parents saw this one posted? Yikes.
Anyway, here is what Wiki had to say:
“In 1991, the channel aired the controversial program The Great Satan At Large from the late Lou Perfidio (1963–2006), whose program contained, among other sights, chroma-keyed videos of Adolf Htler, under-age strppers, and jesters who publicly m*sturbated. Perfidio and the show’s producer were suspended for 90 days following hearings from the Pima County and City Attorney offices that the program was “obscene”. The program never returned to the air again. Lou Perfidio died of MRSA, pneumonia and high blood pressure in 2006.
Side note- this aired at 6PM! What in the hell were they thinking??

Mick Martin Memorial Series #6: Doin’ the Backseat Boogie CD 1991 and Rockin the Blues Cassette LP
It’s that time again- time for the Mick Martin Memorial series! This first one is one of Mick’s earliest releases on CD. If discogs is to be trusted (it is missing a LOT of Mick’s releases), this is his earliest CD.
Not billed with the Blues Rockers- that would start in 1994, if (again) discogs is to be trusted.

Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers- Rockin the Blues Cassette LP transfer f/master
the second release is this apparent cassette-only release. There is no date anywhere in the tape or J-card, but I would guess anywhere from the late 80s to mid-90s. Mick mentions in an interview that he started the first incarnation of the Blues Rockers in 1987, so it could be from way back then as well.

This one is from Anonymous 2’s collection and is for sale if anyone has interest. Apparently people want it since there are 31 wantlists and 0 historical sales on Discogs…
Anyway, on to the tape. When I pulled this one, I was like “heck yeah! A death metal demo!” Then I digitized it and prepped it for upload. I start listening to it and I am thinking that this can’t be right because it is dance music. Sure enough, this is Xorcist. Not what I was expecting, haha.
