Youth of Today- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 11/15/19 5cam Multicam w/Matrix Audio

I think I have mentioned before that work has been killing me. We have been working day and night. I was even at the Strung Out show at Holy Diver and got called back on a Saturday night (I am an 8-5 M-F desk job guy).
The night before Strung Out, we had another work emergency and I was stuck on the phone. I decided that screw it, I wasn’t missing the YoT show. I packed my video bag while multitasking on the call, and then drove to Berkeley while the call dragged on. I made it to the show 20 minutes before YoT played. I set up 5 cameras in a hurry and got it done. I was SO happy to see Liz doing sound, her mixes always sound great and it mixed perfectly with the Rode audience mic.

Youth of Today- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 3/27/88 xfer from 1st gen soundboard cassette

This one sounds pretty good for an early Gilman board mix. There seemed to be more guitar in one channel, so I bumped up the channel with guitar and it sounds pretty nice- no need to Izotope it this time. Mix starts out weak and gets better as the show progresses. It’s dialed in at about 10min.
They are a little slow to get started, forward to about 2min if you want to avoid the improv jam.
Haha, Ray asks for more lights at the start of the set. “They are all the way up” NOW you know why all my old gilman videos are so dark!
