P.I.L. – Ace of Spades, Sacramento Ca. 11/28/15 Audio DPA 4061 Mics / Sony M10

This is not a video- this is an audio recording of this show. I have had these mics for about 5 years now (thanks Jason for giving me a good deal on them) and this is probably the best sounding show that I have recorded with them. Recorded about 20 feet back from the right PA stack. This is completely raw- I have not remixed or adjusted levels. You might want to bring your bass down in your EQ a bit. Some people who went to the show may enjoy this: Brian McKenna Jerry Perry Larry Boothroys Paul Piazza Dal Basi and I am sure I am missing many others.

P.I.L. – Market Square Arena, Indianapolis In 3/14/88 transfer from 8mm master inc Public Image Ltd.

I just now got this one done for today. More fun time alignment work.
It looks like Tony Philputt already has this posted, but this one is better quality. At least I think that “The Wrecking Yard” channel is his. Mixed in with a bunch of cassettes from Tony’s collection is this INXS/PIL and Sting 8mm master videos. The one posted seems to be a 1st gen VHS from this master tape. Since I would rather get stabbed in the eye than listen to Sting, this one is next.

For some reason, this had no audio when I transferred it. Tony/The Wrecking Yard’s did, so I pulled the audio off that youtube post and attempted to synch them up. If there is anything less fun than trying to synch an arena video, I haven’t found it yet. JFC. I hope I got it right.

Johnny Rotten- BBC Profile 1/9/81 xfer f/Shortwave Radio Master/Low Gen Cassette P.I.L. Sex Pistols

Well here’s a first- Scott Davey or a friend of his attempted to record stuff off of the BBC by using a short wave radio receiver. He likely recorded the English broadcast from San Francisco. So that is why this sounds so sketchy. Muffled and lots of volume surges. I did a quick check and it seems that this is not out on the internet so it’s worth a post I guess. Hardcore fans only.

If anyone knows of a better version online, let me know and I will post something else from Scott Davey’s collection today.
