Starting early with the posts today to ensure everyone gets some time with the music before celebrating new years. I hope everyone’s 2026 is better than 2025.
This is one of the shows that Tony sent to me back in 1989, packed on a 6 hour VHS tape. Tons of shots of the crowd, so if you are from the L.A. scene, look for your friends.

I was going to post my Flower Leperds video from this show with this soundboard audio, but Pluraleyes would not synch it.. so you get the soundboard only for now. If anyone wants to volunteer their time (we are a 501c3 nonprofit!) to align audio and video, please let me know! The mix on this one needed some work. It was heavy on bass and low on drums. Pluraleyes fixed it up alright. It takes about 5min for the mix to stabilize. I might have the master tape here, but that would require one arm tape digging which did sound like fun.

Back in 1988, I filmed the Flower Leperds at Gilman and sent Tony a copy. In return, he sent me a VHS tape packed with 6 hours of Flower Leperds and other videos. I was, and still am, grateful for his generosity. This was one of at least 3 FL shows on that tape.
This was during that time after the Adolescents reformed, but then Tony left the band and Rikk took over vocal duties. This is what Tony was doing at that time.

R.I.P. Eddie Egan. I did not know Eddie personally, but he was a friend of a bunch of my friends. Eddie was a supporter of the early orange county punk scene, exec produced the HVY DRT album, and threw legendary parties (with bands) at his home in Perris, Ca. I have video of 2 bands from his 1988 party, which I received in trade with Tony Cadena back in the late 80s. I hope that Jack, Casey, JOD, Farrell and all the rest of the socal guys enjoy this one. Tons of crowd party shots as well. Also, after months of dicking around with it, I finally have my lossless VHS transfer setup dialed in. I can now capture any videotape lossless with my JVC VCR’s and Datavideo TBC-1000 time base corrector, and have programs like Adobe Premiere recognize the AVI file. Thanks to king beam and Nicholas Serra for the help. It sounds easy to do, but it isn’t.
