So the Ace of Spades was apparently the place to be last night. I went to film some bands for my good friend Agelos, and the place was sold out. Not only was it sold out, but the main floor (where the under 21 kids were) was impossibly packed. It was crazy. These guys are from Caprenteria, Ca. and they opened the show. I liked them quite a bit. I only got about 7 minutes, but I thought I’d post it anyway. Filmed with a Canon HFG30 on a monopod and Rode Video Pro Stereo mic.

Terror was the most energetic band of the night. Their lead singer was in the hospital, so they had a substitute. I thought that guy looked different than the guy that I saw at the metro last year…

Jesse Davis from DVC (great video channel- check it out) asked me to film this band. I had never heard them before, but they had been around since the late 80s/early 90s. They absolutely ripped. Since then, I have become friends with Jeff (Vocals/Bass) and even digitized some of their old studio DATs. Hopefully something will come of those one day…
I was planning to film a multicam for Jesse but I was talking to friends and they started unexpectedly. Well, unexpectedly for me anyway.

I was emailing someone earlier this week about Dr. Know and I searched the archive for the videos I shot of them… and this one was missing. I never posted anything from this show. Odd. So I dug the 2 bands that I filmed out of my spindles to post. I wonder how many more of these are not posted yet.. This show was memorable because it was the last time I got to see the band play (w/Kyle), and during the set, the soundman put so much reverb on Kyle’s vocals that it was comical. Kyle finally had to say something after the song ended- it was a ridiculous amount of reverb. Man, I miss seeing the band. I wish they would release the album they recorded in the mid-2010’s.

Here’s local guys Bastards of Young with a set opening for Teenage Bottlerocket a few months back. Enjoy! Filmed with 1 HFG30 and 1 HFG10. Thanks to Agelos for the edit, and glad you liked them!
