Here is the last 7 Seconds video I’m posting for now. I got this one in trade about 10 years ago and it had no source info. It looks like it is from a DV source. It is super over exposed and the red lights did not help the picture quality- red is the enemy of consumer cameras. The venue seems odd as well- the place looks tiny and no one is moving.
Here’s a fun one for today’s On This Date in History. I got this from Jim McLain, but it sounds like it was mastered on CDR, then dubbed to cassette, then back to CDR. Interesting lineage. The funny thing about this one (to me) is the fact that it is only 6 minutes long because KVMR couldn’t bleep out the FCC banned words, so Kevin just announces real quick before “In Your Face” that there are bad words in the song, and KVMR takes it away. Haha, made it 6 minutes into the set before you get more typical KVMR fare. Classic. Oh wait, there is a “bullsh*t” in Slow Down a Second- snuck one in there! Speaking of 7 seconds- if you missed the announcements, they are playing Sacramento and 924 Gilman in May. I don’t think either have sold out yet, but the last time they were in Sac, they sold out Harlow’s… so get yer tickets and don’t beg Brian to get you in if you slept on ’em. /s Sounds like Eric Bianchi announcing the band. Tom from Knockoffs on “One Big Guessing Game”
I usually shy away from posting officially released videos, but I am posting this one for 4 reasons:
The tape is long out of print and rarely comes up for sale, even on Ebay
7 Seconds has obvious Sacramento connections
This is a WAY better quality version than what is on youtube today. How could that one posted be so distorted? Yikes.
It kicks ass. The band is in top form and the crowd is going nuts.
I realized that I have a bunch of stuff already xferred to DVD/BD that has never posted, so you are going to get a flurry of these over the next few weeks. Enjoy.

Here is a show that I received in a DVD trade years ago. It looks like it is a transfer off the master tape. In fact, hate5six posted another show from the night before from the day before this show.. so maybe this was a fest. I don’t have a filmer name, but the other set was recorded by Jim Keller, so I will assume he shot this one as well. Insane show- crowd goes wild and swarms the stage for sing-alongs
Today is a milestone day- this post is the 5,000th post to be added to the sacramentomusicarchive website. I started this website as a place where all Sacramento audio/video/photo/flyer etc creators can post their content (btw that vision still holds, and if anyone wants to add their own content to the site, please contact me). Thanks to all the contributors (you know who you are)- your volunteer work is appreciated!! The crazy thing is that we are just getting started. I have received amazing collections to digitize from a lot of people, and we still have Doug Goodman’s, Wayne Vanderkuil’s, and Rick Sylvain’s KALX archive to finish in the short term… then we can start on Barry Ward’s amazing collection of RKL/Crosstops tapes, Brian McKenna’s demo motherlode, Dal Basi’s Sacramento and Stockton treasure trove, Jason Ross’ 1000+ collection of VHS and Audio cassettes… then finally my collection of 1000 VHS, 2000 DATs and 4000 cassettes! So I guess I am saying that this will be a life long project. I should have 20-25 years left in me to keep doing this. So for today, I decided to pull one from my collection of my master tapes from a while back. This recording was made in the era when I would go to the club and use a battery-powered 4 channel mixer to tap into, then boost the levels of the soundboard, live. I would have these HUGE Nova Pro headphones on my head inside the club or on the sidewalk, trying to hear the mix as I went. It was goofy as hell- people would stop in their tracks with a “what the hell is this nerd doing” look on their face. Haha. This was recorded a few months before the Troubadour concert they recorded for “Scream Real Loud” CD. They were on fire at this time- so much energy.

This, I think, is one of the best Roland mixes that I did. Man, this sounds great. Get past the 3 minute mark and it is great for the rest of the show. This one is dedicated to Kevin and Steve and family. Very sorry to hear about your mom.
I think I mentioned this before- back in the 90s, there were certain towns/cities where you could bank on a person consistently filming good stuff. Omaha was one of them. I never traded directly with the person who filmed these, but I usually snagged a 2nd gen copy from someone who did. Interesting note about this show- this is a rare (to me) 3 piece setup, with Kevin playing guitar and singing. Kev, did you guys do a full tour like this? I never knew, and wikipedia is no help. It’s cool to hear out the shizzy songs played live.

Here’s another Cattle Club gen from Marty Sertich.
Here is Kevin Seconds’ memory of the show:
“I knew there was video footage of a 7Secs Sacramento gig when we were going it as a 3-piece (mid-90s, in between guitarist Bobby being out and then coming back into the band) but had never seen it.”
