OK, THIS is the multicamera version of the 7 seconds show I promised yesterday. This was my first multi camera show that I did on my own. Someone tripped over the back tripod, so the stage is not centered in the screen! Annoying. Filmed with 1 Canon HF200 and 1 Canon HFM30 cameras.

Hi, this was a little bit before I got my nicer equipment, but this one still turned out nice. Filmed with either a Canon HF200 or HFM30 w/Stock mic. I think I have a soundboard of this show too- we should synch it up.

When I was doing my “On This Date” thing last month, I realized that I had a soundboard recording from this night as well. I took the original video files and degrained them, then I rebalanced the soundboard to bring up the bass and guitar. Turned out pretty good.
Watching this gets me pretty excited for these shows they are doing next year. I bought WAY too many tickets all over the country with the hope that I can make the shows. We’ll see how it pans out.

This was my first and only attempt to synch up audio & video. I spent HOURS trying to line this up. This show was memorable because a bunch of kids jumped on stage at the end of the set to sing along… and there was a crowd surfer ON STAGE! If he would have fallen off the crowd toward the back, he would have gone through Troy’s drums. I talked to Troy about that a bit later, and that (crowd surfers on stage) had happened to them before. Crazy. The mix gets better a little into the show.

This was the first 7 seconds show I saw in 5 years. I am a bit perplexed as to why- I usually catch every show when they play around here. Maybe they were on hiatus.
This is a really great and fun show. I love when Kevin helps to direct the stagediver off stage- too funny. His voice is a little hoarse from being sick and being on the road for a month, but still sounds great.
Audio sounds great- Claude gave a nice mix and I was able to make it even better in Izotope. This was filmed with an older DV camera that was on its way out- it had a dead pixel and no image stabilization. The camerawork is a little shaky.

A week or so back, Jay Knox (Natalie Cortez band) contacted me and asked if I wanted to post some out of print CD’s by local Sacramento artists. That got me thinking… the Sacramento Music archive probably isn’t posting enough Sacramento stuff now. Anonymous 2 and Dal Basi’s collections have a lot of Sacramento stuff, but that equates to 2 posts every 3 weeks or so..
So I decided to add a new feature to the rotation of collections I post from. About every 3 weeks, I will post one of Jay’s (and I have a ton as well) “out of print/unobtainable anywhere else” sacramento-based official releases. It should be fun.
Here is the first. A bunch of Sacramento artists came together many years ago to make a tribute CD to Kevin Seconds. It has Kevin Seconds songs, 7 Seconds songs, and I think I heard a Go National song in there. Jonah Matranga does “Got My List” as well, which he still performs with Allyson Seconds at the annual xmas shows. So cool!
Here’s where you come in- we don’t have a track list. We don’t know who plays what on here. Please comment(with time stamps if you can) if you know who performs these. I’ll update this with the info.
0:00:00 Gabe Nelson – “He’s Drunk Again” (Go National tune)
0:05:29 Luckie Strike – “Stoudamire” (Kevin Seconds tune)
0:08:07 Jonah Matranga & Allyson Seconds – “(Got) My List” (7 Seconds tune)
