Back to Pat Wright’s collection and we are making our way through the Blackbird Raum show. Pat video’d every band, every night for YEARS. This is definitely the most comprehensive collection of Gilman video I have ever seen.
Anyway, JFF were a ska/pop punk band that was around from 2009-at least 2018. Members are/were (as of 2009):

Dandelion Massacre- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 9/25/15 transfer from master Sacramento Folk Punk
Today was supposed to be something from Scott Davey’s collection, but it warranted a re-do so you get this. Dandelion Massacre were a Folk Punk band from the Davis/Woodland area. I don’t think they are still active, but vocalist/guitar Tyler Masteller now sings and plays in the band Lokeigh.at least I think they were in the band. Discogs is betraying me.
I think this was a big show for the band, Tyler announced that they were very nervous before the start! Unfortunately, this set was at the end of the disc and cuts off. This should be most of the set.

Blackbird Raum- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 9/25/15 transfer from master video Soundcheck Folk Punk
This is a Pat Wright video but it is the only soundcheck I have found so far from his collection. Since it is daylight outside and the door is open and the house lights are on, it looks great! The soundcheck is about 40 minutes, but it is a lot of boring soundcheck stuff until they play these 3 songs. Pretty cool

The Skull- Oakland Metro Operahouse, Oakland Ca. 9/20/15 Multicam Doom Metal
THis was an excellent performance, but I am not totally happy with my video. Agelos did a great job editing as usual, but a few things went kinda wrong while taping. First, we were recording through the soundboard and we got the opening band just fine. The Skull’s set is just silence. I think the soundguy forgot to punch the channel to the recorder. Bummer.. so, the sound is less than stellar. The Metro is notorious for their acoustics and this one sounds a bit distorted and distant. Second, Eric was under bright red lighjts so I freaked out with my camera a bit, trying to get his hair from being overexposed. I get it dialied in about 20min into the set. All in all, it’s not bad but I was hoping to make a better video. For Ron Holzner and John Sharpen, and Jason Ellis who were all there. Harald Oimen and Jeff Becerra(I think) were there too. The “famous musician” to regular guy ratio was high at this show. Enjoy. Maybe I am being too hard on it.

The Strange Party- Bat Guano Fest, Colonial Cafe, Sacramento 9/19/15 Multicam
The Strange Party have been around a long time in Sac, but I only recently “discovered” them. They are my favorite Sacramento band right now.
