Green Day- Lollapalooza, Cal State Dominguez Hills 9/5/94 xfer from DAT Master Audio Nakamichi CM300

It’s Mediocre Monday! Wow, I am surprised that I have never posted this one. I took my step son to this show. He was 11 year old and weighed about 80lbs. When Green Day and Beastie Boys played, the crowd went apeshit and we were crushed/blocked in with a bunch of other people. We would pick our feet up and move 10-15ft at a time. It was both fun and terrifying. You will hear that the recording suffers a bit from the chaos & me yelling to my stepson(safety was a priority at that point) , but I like it anyway.

Beastie Boys- Lollapalooza, CSDH, Carson Ca. 9/5/94 xfer from DAT Audio Master w/Nakamichi CM300

I did not have time to remix this one, so it will sound a bit raw. Turn up the bass on your stereo a little, haha.

Holiday Flyer- Largo Pub, Los Angeles Ca 9/2/94 xfer f/DAT Audience Master Tape Soft Science Desario

Alright, here is today’s On This Date in History. I picked this one not because of the quality, but due to the rarity of the performance. The quality is decent but the PA didn’t seem to be real good- this was an EARLY Largo show, way before they became the hotspot for the famous. This seems to be the only Holiday Flyer show from the 90s that I can find online.

I was living in Whittier at the time and my good friends John and Katie were playing, so I headed out to see them. You can here me babble like a fool about my new glasses- I actually stumbled around life with 20/200 vision and I had just gotten my glasses that week.

Tilt- KALX Live in Studio 9/2/94 xfer from pre-FM Master cassette East Bay Punk

This is the earliest KALX live in studio that I have posted from Rick Sylvain’s collection so far. It sounds like it might be one of Rick’s first ones ever. What a way to start it off- this band is so great.
This also includes station ID’s at the end (including outtakes) that are pretty clearly pulled from the reel to reel tape.
