Here is Squirtgun’s first show in 20 years. It was great to see them- I did not get to see them in the 90s. They did songs from bands that they were affiliated with, including Screeching Weasel.

I have been pretty lucky to see MTX a bunch of times since they have returned. I think this was my 5th time in 2 years… and what a show! They opened the set with “Gilman Street”, which was so great. I was totally exhausted at this point, but that was a total surprise. They brought Joel Reader up to help sing “Dumb Little Band” as well, which was another one that has not been played in a while. Sorry for the less than perfect camera work and the 4 part, cut up video. I was ineffective toward the end. My batteries died and I forgot to turn my mic on to start part 4. What a mess.

I have to admit, I really tried to like Brent’s TV but their studio output did not connect with me. I gave the Lumberjack Days 7″ and I listened to the demo online.. nothing. Then I saw them live. Holy shit! You must see them live to get it. They were awesome. Part 1 was the only part of Saturday night that is not shot from the elevated area. Part 2 is much better.

WOW. I had heard stories about The Smugglers’ greatness live, but they exceeded all expectations. At this point of the fest, my 49 year old body had filmed a shitload of bands and was tired as hell. Then The Smugglers came on and I forgot about it all and rocked out. A scorching set. I was lame in the 90s and missed them, and I am so glad that I got to see them once at least. Surprise of the fest for me.

You know when Kepi is opening a 7 band bill that the night is going to be awesome. Includes one super deep cut. So nice to hear these songs again. I missed them.

Here’s a band I never thought I would ever see. Lawrence Livermore, Chris Applegren and others do their folk punk thing.

Between The Smugglers and Pansy Division’s sets back to back, it was like entertainment overload when you are already exhausted. Even if you are not a fan, forward to 4:25 into part 1 and watch the “d*ck of death” get launched into the crowd. I was lucky to have such a good angle. They played all of the hits- I don’t have all of their CD’s but I knew just about every song in the set. Great show, and I was not even bothered by the huge d*ck messing up my focus for a while.
