For today’s “On This Day in History” post, I picked one of my all time favorite bands, playing near me before I knew who they were. I still remember the exact time and place I heard them- I was driving a car full of teenagers to a punk show in Modesto in august of 1998 and I popped this DAT of one of their live shows into my car DAT deck (yes, I really had a car DAT deck. Do not recommend). I had to shush the kids because I wanted to focus on what I was hearing. Thanks to Mike Shiner for that board tape all those years back- Brent Best can blame him for my fandom. Haha.
I have no idea who taped this one. I have some ideas- it might have been Ted or Kurt Vogel. Not sure. This is from a DAT clone of the show. Sounds like quality mics as well. I think the youtube photo is from the Boomerang. I don’t see a stage so I am not sure.
