Since work OWNED me yesterday (until 9:30pm), here is yesterday’s post. I’ll try to get 1 more up later today.
I was unaware of this, but this appears to be unaired. There is no title screen at the beginning like all of the other shows that were on KDHX, and it ends abruptly without credits. This vid has Jimmy Wilsey front and center (along with Chris of course) just SHREDDING. Just an amazing document from way back. Penelope Houston might appreciate this one.
Happy Monday everyone! This is an absolutely killer sounding set and performance from Christ on Parade. This is my favorite era of the band, so being able to work on such a nice quality tape and improve it a bit was fun. Thanks Wayne!

Alright, here is something I wasn’t expecting to post today. I had to sign a form this morning and I noticed that today was 4/25, which is the 35 year anniversary of our old punk band’s last show ever. The band featured John Conley and Mike Yoas on guitars (now in Desario), bass player Travis (none of us can remember his last name), and Scott Oakes(R.I.P.) on drums. Oh, and me being a huge doofus on vocals. As you can see, we were opening for Sentinel Beast at Club Can’t Tell. We were clearly not a good fit for the show. We got this show because I heard from friends that a band dropped off the bill and they needed a band with a couple days notice. I proceeded to bug the living hell out of Stewart Katz, calling him repeatedly and asking for my band to open the show. He finally tells me “if you promise to never call me again about a show, you can play”. I was all like, “hell yeah, sold!”. Since this ended up being our last show ever, it was a good deal. A few highlights: me freaking out at the beginning because there was nothing coming out of the monitors when we started our first song. My trying a burlesque kick at the 21:00 mark and almost falling down. Me taking a vote from the audience at 10:40 if they want to hear a song, and everyone cheers for “no”, but we played it anyway. And finally, I can’t find the timestamp, but I tried to be cool and jump off the staircase onto the stage at the start of a song, but get scared as I jump, grab the stair railing, and dumbly float down to the stage. Anyway, watch it quickly before the rest of the guys yell at me and tell me to pull it down.

This tape has been circulated for years as 4/25/87, but looking at some old flyers, it might have been 4/24/87. Can someone ask the pollution circus guys if they remember playing with CoP at the 4/25 show? Anyway, if you love the “A mind is a Terrible Thing” album n(which is one of the best punk albums of all time), this is the show to listen to. This show takes place right before the album was released, and they even debut “Power” live at this show. The rebalanced version of the show sounds pretty great, especially for an early Gilman soundboard! I guess what I am saying it that this is a MUST LISTEN. From Eric Mcintire’s collection. I also have a 30 year old traded tape that I may compare one day… but this one sounds great.

Today’s audio collections post comes from Wayne Vanderkuil’s collection. This tape had a bunch of short soundboard clips of punk bands in the late 80s, which means it’s gotta be a Radley tape. This one is only 2 songs/5 minutes, but there is a guest flute player. How often do you hear MDC with a flute?

This was a Patreon Voter’s choice a couple weeks back, but thanks to Omar M, you get it with actual listenable audio! Omar reached out and offered to help volunteer for the Archive. Thanks again, Omar! We might be seeing more awesome stuff assisted by Omar in the near future.
Here is the original post text: It’s time for the Patreon voter’s choice post for the week before last. I was out of town in Las Vegas for a bit so thanks to my Patreon supporters for waiting until I got back.
This is the very first show I ever videotaped or had videotaped for me. I booked/promoted this show but I was a year away from owning my first camera, so we begged Mick Brindle (Damon from Anal Babies’ dad) to come on out and video. The quality isn’t great but this is an awesome piece of history:
from what I can tell, this is the earliest Corrupted Morals video ever filmed. Chris Eng came in a close 2nd place with his 6/14/87 video from Gilman. You can see a bunch of local legends in the crowd. I see Ground Chuck right before the show starts and in the pit along with Ken Doose. There is soundboard audio for this show, but the cuts between some songs and the distortion of the camera audio track make this a manual job. Ugh.

Here is one that I think I got from Jeff Maxwell back in the late 80s. I suspect that this date of 4/15/87 is wrong- my old band opened for Sentinel Beast at Club Can’t Tell on 4/25/87, and I think this might be that show. The 15th was on a Wednesday night, the 25th was a weekend. That stage setup looks the same as the 4/15 show. Also- wow- look at what a few VHS dubs can do to the picture quality. Our set(from the master VHS tape) is nice quality, this (multi gen) one is pretty washed out. Fun Fact- Heathen did not open this show like the flyer says- they were a last minute cancel so I bugged the living hell out of Stewart Katz, calling him repeatedly and asking for my band to open the show. He finally tells me “if you promise to never call me again about a show, you can play”. I was all like, “hell yeah, sold!”. Since this ended up being our last show ever, it was a good deal.
