You know that when a band sets up, and the wheel up a keyboard setup that is older than you are, that it is probably going to be pretty good. And it was. Celestions are: Andrew Harrison performs vocals and plays guitar along with guitarist, Curtis Franklin. Jeff Kapellos is on keyboard and Gabe Van Dyke plays the bass. Greg Wellman rocks on percussion(thanks to accesslocal website for the info).

This was Strange Party’s first show in about 6 months. They have added a new bass player and Justin has moved to guitar. Wow! This is the best set I have ever seen them play! They skipped my favorite song, but I will forgive them. Props to Andrew Scott for the stellar sound.

The Moans were 2nd up last night and they played another great set. Great songs, and Matt sure can sing! They have a new tape out- a split with Strange Party! Check it out.

There have been a ton of great bands in Sacramento over the years. I have counted locals as my favorites since the mid-80s, starting with Redrum and Sentinel Beast, then on to Bliss, The Groovie Ghoulies, The Knockoffs, The Skirts, and all the way to now with The Strange Party, The Moans, Little Tents, Dead Dads and tons more. Here’s another GREAT sacramento band who are relatively new to me. You must go listen to their EP on bandcamp- so great! There are no monitors at The Colony, so cut them some slack.

I think this was Kendon’s last show with the band. Filmed with 1 HFG30 on a monopod, 1 HFG10 and a gopro hero 4 silver. Edited by Agelos
