Richard Thompson- Crest Theater, Sacramento Ca 11/8/15 Digital Audio Master-CD Complete Schoeps

For today’s On This Date in History, I pulled one that Anonymous recorded. Richard played 2 hours and 20 min! first 7 songs solo acoustic, 2nd set as an electric trio w/Davey Faragher and Michael Jerome. The last time I saw Davey, he was wearing a beautiful sequined dress, playing bass for Cracker at Cattle Club.

The Strange Party- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca 11/6/15 HD Master w/Rode Videomic Pro Audio Horror Punk

Another one of my masters for today’s On This Date in History and it’s yet another Strange Party video that never got posted somehow. I went to see them every time they played if I could, so I guess it shouldn’t be too big of a surprise that I have video to post.

This was during Danny Reynoso’s “F*ck Cancer” series of concerts– and the annual event is still happening! You have 2 chances to catch the F Cancer series this year- tomorrow night at Corner Sport, on Tupelo Drive in Citrus Heights and the grand finale of wrestling and pop punk at Press Club Saturday. I’ll be at the show tomorrow night. My mom passed from cancer on Tupelo drive in 2006, so hitting that show seems like it was destined to happen. I need to check out the new venues over there anyway. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Little Tents- Press Club, Sacramento 11/4/15 HFG30 & Rode Video pro mic

Little Tents are a Sacramento “supergroup” of sorts, with 2 drummers in other bands(Audrey from mad judy and Lys from dead dads) playing guitar and singing. Bass is Jordan from Mad Judy, and Drums is Adam Anthro. I was shocked the first time I heard the band- the songs are very well crafted and melodic, with short bursts of scream/noise mixed in. Very unique and intense. One of the best new bands to come out of Sacramento. The video turned out pretty good- I was shooting on a dark stage, behind the PA and you can still see the band and hear vocals. I call that a success. They played this show as part of Danny Secretion’s cancer benefit. Thanks for making it happen, Danny!
