R.K.L.- Punk in the Park, Cow Palace, Daly City Ca. 5/3/25 7 camera Multicam w/Multitrack Audio 4K

Since the video transfer setup is still being worked, let’s clear out some of these master videos. This one is a really nice one to brighten up your Monday. It was a team effort between Shawn Biggs, who got me and Guerin access to the show. Guerin supplied most of the angles here, I think Shawn had some gopro angles and mixed the multitrack, and I had the 2 G9ii angles. Turned out really nice.

Rich Kids on LSD- Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco Ca 5/2/24 4K UHD 2 camera mix schoeps Audio RKL

Since RKL is doing a run of shows through California next month, I’ll post this and 1 or 2 more older shows of theirs so you call can get prepared. Here is the 2nd night of the Bottom of the Hill shows last May with former vocalist Tony Foresta. No gopro angles for this show. Plus, I did not get time to plug into the soundboard and there is no multitrack. You get the G9ii angle I was operating along with the GH5S which I clamped to the plywood shelf at the mixing board. Audio is with the Schoeps, but sound was not great from where I was standing. Oh well, at least it is a 2 camera of the complete 2nd night show.

RKL- Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco 5/1/24 4K Multicam Multitrack audio FULL SET Rich Kids on LSD

Here is a super special one for you all today. RKL’s TM (Shawn) was kind enough to send me his multitrack mix of RKL’s set from night 1 of their 2 night run at Bottom of the Hill earlier this year. Not only that, he also gifted me with 3 gopro angles. Aside from the Santa Barbara live stream, this is the best of the 2024 RKL run imho. Thanks Shawn!

R.K.L.- Malt Soda Bash, The Pound, San Francisco Ca 2/28/04 xfer Band Archive VHS Tape Rich Kids on

Here’s one from Barry Ward’s collection of VHS tapes. I think these are 1st gen from the master. This tape was in 6 hour mode and it still looks good, so it has to be 1st gen or better.

Jason is looking good here. He was a little sloppy(but hilariously entertaining) in the shows the following year, but he looks good at this one. I wish the audio was better.

Rich Kids on LSD- E. Blanco, Vitoria Spain 4/21/95 xfer from band’s low gen VHS RKL R.K.L. Nardcore

Here’s one from Barry Ward’s VHS collection. I debated whether I should post this since it is already on Barry’s channel but 1) He asked me to do a better retransfer and 2) the retransfer looks A LOT better than the one that Barry posted. So, here you go.
It’s an odd video. It seems to be done with the house videocamera setup and it looks great for the first 38min. Then something happens where 2 angles are superimposed and you get this view for the next hour. Odd. Still awesome.

R.K.L.- VFW, Green Bay Wi 8/26/94 xfer from 1st gen VHS tape complete Rich Kids on LSD

For today’s On This Date in history, I decided to pull this one out. I feel bad because after I worked this up, I realized that I teased posting a Robbie Fulks show from The Palms on this date (we have a series of Sac Music Archive songs airing on KDRT where that was done), and I Robbie Aki was ok with releasing the beer lords video that I filmed in on this date 1988. D’oh! Sorry.

This one comes once again from Jason Ross’ collection. I could have sworn I already posted this but no- only the board tape from this show. Maybe someday we can put it all together. Barry ward has about 15min of this show on his channel, but this is the more complete 50min set, and probably all that exists.

I’ve been on a bit of an RKL kick lately. It is fun to hear these shows, but also heartbreaking to listen to Jason. He was so funny- I didn’t know he had kids. Just tragic that he passed away while trying to get clean.

Anyway, this is another recording from that amazing gift that is the Jason Ross archive. I popped it into Izotope and bumped the vocals down a bit, and bumped the bass up a bit. Mix fluctuates for the 1st 5min or so but settles down. Very enjoyable.

Rich Kids on LSD- 4 song demo xfer f/ Band Master Cassette 1994 RKL R.K.L. Oxnard Hardcore Nardcore

I am late on today’s “On This Day in History” post, so you get the collections post first. On the bright side, I had a meeting run long so I had to change my OTD plans and it is way better. So there’s that.
Anyway, in anticipation of the RKL shows this week, I figured it would be a good time to post this from Barry’s tape collection. This seems to be an early demo for Riches to Rags. One of the tracks (in My Mind) was renamed. I love hearing new (to me) versions of songs with Jason on vocals. So great.
