Pegboy- 924 Gilman Berkeley Ca 7/1/25 4K UHD Multicam w/ Multitrack Audio Naked Raygun Complete Show

This was a GREAT show at Gilman from earlier this year. Pegboy and Rhythm Collision. Glad I made it.
It was made even better when everything came together for this video- band gave permission, Alex Botkin helped work behind the scenes to get a multitrack recording for me, and the lighting was great.
The only downside is that Larry spends a lot of time in the crowd- I should have put a camera pointing in that area. Would have been perfect.
Super cool of the band to honor Pierre Kezdy by playing Treason, and dedicating it to him.

Naked Raygun- Stinky’s Al Fresco, San Francisco 9/26/16 “New Dreams” Canon HFG30

This one is mainly for Joy Spicer, since she could not go to the show. So Stinky’s would not give me permission to film Naked Raygun, even though I had filmed them many times in the past. After I got turned away at the door (and in advance), I hopped an uber to Folsom St Fait to film Jello Biafra with 3 cameras. That one is something to see! After Jello, I uber’d back to Stinky’s and NR started EARLY and was just finishing up their set. I filmed the last song from the sidewalk outside the venue. Please note the police/security person looking at me, then texting someone, then calling someone. Ha ha, Good thing the song is only 1:20.

Naked Raygun- Casbah, San Diego Ca. 9/27/15 Multicam with Matrix Audio!

This may be my favorite NR set out of all of the shows I have seen. They played the best new songs along with all of the “hits”. The crowd was really into it, and it was a great turnout for a LATE Sunday night show at the Casbah (why do you do this to me, Casbah?). Filmed with 2 HFG10’s & 1 HFG30. Audio is soundboard + DPA4061 mics. Thanks to Agelos for doing the editing- great job! Thanks to Jason Ellis for doing the sbd/aud matrix work. Thanks to the band for being so cool about my video nerd hobby

Naked Raygun- Punk Rock Bowling, LVCS, Las Vegas NV 5/23/14 Multicam with Rode Videomic Pro Stereo

I thought I had posted this one years ago, back when I filmed it. Man, this doesn’t seem like 7 years ago. I got to this show WAY too early and while I was waiting, I was accosted by 2 or 3 drunk “old school” punks who wanted to punch me because they didn’t like my shirt. I guess you can never joke about the sacred DK logo.. who knew?
Anyway, the sound is only OK on this one. I asked the soundman for a board feed and it was his first night there and he was nervous about patching someone in. The room had high ceilings and the sound was muddy. You should hear the DPA mic audio for this one- total mud.
This was in that span where Pierre had stopped playing with the band regularly and before Fritz, so we have Pete Mittler on bass for this one. Good stuff.
This was one of those nighttime club shows during PRB. The place had a country theme- “Las Vegas Country Saloon” is the full name.

Naked Raygun- Summit Music Hall, Denver Co. 1/31/14 Multicam with Soundboard Audio!

This one has a funny story. I saw that Naked Raygun were playing Denver, so I checked flights from California. They were only $100 round trip. It was like the universe was telling me to go! After unsucessfully trying to get friends to go with, I went it alone. I got to the venue early and asked if I could get permission to video, and the promoter says “the band wants to talk to you. So, I walk backstage and they are sitting around, eating dinner. We proceed to hang out for about an hour. I fixed pierre’s camera on his phone, which was funny. They were so nice to me, especially since I was just a random guy flying from california with video cameras! Filmed with 1 HFG10 (one of the first shows I taped with it) and 1 HF200. Great, unusual setlist including “rocks of sweden”.

Naked Raygun- Riot Fest, May Farms, Byers Co. 9/22/13 w/EXC Neumann Audio!

This was the first time seeing Naked Raygun in about 6 years, so I was very excited. Add a few beers before the show & a red bull from friend Daryl Brothers from backstage, and you set the stage for extremely erratic and hyperactive camerawork. I still like it, I hope you do too. Shot with a Canon HFM30. Audio courtesy of Jason Ellis and his Neumann KM140s.

Jeff Pezzati- Detroit Bar, Costa Mesa Ca 11/21/09 Acoustic Duo Digital Audio Master-CDR Naked Raygun

This one is a really cool rare solo performance from Jeff Pezzati of Naked Raygun. I checked around and this might be the only solo live performance he has ever done. He did release a solo EP which is great, I think that one is still on bandcamp… but this is the only solo performance I have ever heard of.

For years, I was totally puzzled as to why Jeff would be halfway across the country doing a solo set… then I read the taper’s notes. This was a benefit show put on by Joe Nelson, before he started Trust Records. It benefited The Eli Home, which is a shelter for abused mothers and their children. Wow. Just when you think you couldn’t love the guy any more and he does this.

You get 4 Raygun songs, 2 The Bomb songs, Mel Brooks, The Jam and New Order covers. Hot damn! I don’t know who the other guitarist is, other than it saying “the guitarist in The Bomb”. EDIT: Guitarist is Jeff Dean.

Audio Live Concert

Naked Raygun- Distillery, Sacramento Ca. 12/6/07 xfer from master tape!

This was a memorable show. The Distillery is TINY and it was completely packed for this show. There was a scheduling problem- someone booked 4 opening bands and by the time NR got on stage, they ahd to cut the set short. Bummer. They said that this show felt like the old days when they played small clubs in chicago. Filmed with the Panasonic Pro AG-DVC30 camera and Shure VP-88 mic (which was wired incorrectly by my friends at Sweetwater). Jim Mclain made a nice audio recording of this show, we should add that audio to this video.
