Back to that great Old I show w/City Mouse headlining. The multicam of that set is coming soon- I screwed up some gopro settings and I need to figure out how to make them work with the other angles. Lightweight were great as usual- one of the best punk bands in town. I love their melodic parts, even with the gruff vocals.

Man, I spent all week posting videos from last weekend. Here is the final one- from Jake’s 30th birthday show at the cafe. THat’s him in the thumbnail- he lays drums for lightweight. He threw a FREE show for his birthday which was a lot of fun. The Cafe had just reopened after being closed for a couple months due to pipe issues within the complex. Between this show being full and a big grind show at the colony, I don’t think I had ever seen the bar so busy before. Anna was flying at superhuman speed all night!

So the good people (person?) over at Punch and Pie put on one hell of a show at the cafe last Saturday. 1 out of town band and many locals teamed up to play sets of their favorite artists. This one paired Donny from lightweight on Guitar, Jessica (Vocals) and Dave(Drums) from Danger Inc, and Travis from Sad Girlz Club.
So, I need to apologize to Sean and the band- I was so tired, plus this performance was so good that I did not check my camera closely and did not start recording at the start of the set. So, I was filming away with the camera on pause like a dumb shit. I am SO SORRY. The 9 minutes you get is great though.
By the way, there is a reason why I am posting this one today. These guys (and lady) are playing at 924 Gilman TONIGHT. If you are able to make it, you totally should go to that show. This was great fun.

Opening the Smoking Popes show was Lightweight. It was nice to hear them on a bigger sound system- Donny usually maxes out smaller PA systems. They sounded really good and they were pumped to open the show.
Lightweight are:
Donny:Guitar and Vocals
Bryan:Guitar and Vocals
Jeff:Bass and Vocals
Jake:Drums

What a stacked lineup at Press Club this past Thursday for the Camp Fire benefit. Lightweight kicked it off with their catchy pop punk. Donny (Vocals) was eating honey in between songs- the only other person I have seen do that on stage is Debbie Gunn (Sentinel Beast). Gives you an idea of his vocal style.

Lightweight has a new-ish CD out “Cross and Burn” that I picked up at the show. Well done pop punk with gruff vocals and nice guitar work. The main vocalist(Donny?) was dressed as a hamburger during the set.

Joe McKinney posted about this band a couple weeks back and I loved the stuff I heard on bandcamp. They were just a good live- great pop punk with catchy lead guitar work. Great stuff- they have a cassette for sale, check them out!
