I was super stoked when the Cafe announced that Zeke was playing there- I have been trying to catch them live for quite a while. I got to the venue super early and got band permission to record (Mark was super cool), and started to work on prepping the multitrack laptop. Well, the f’ing thing would not read the channels- I don’t know if it is a driver issue or what. I worked on it forever and no dice. I still have the Schoeps so it should be fine… and then my Schoeps preamp crapped out during the opening band. So that leaves us with the Rode Videomic pro for audio. It was lacking some guitar and vocals, so Mark and I worked on it to get it decent. I have never had TWO audio sources fail on me before the opening band finished their set.
Anyway, this was probably the best show I have ever seen at the Cafe. Man, they just ripped.
Oh, also, first multicam with 2 G9ii’s! If anyone wants to buy one of my GH5s’s, I’ll cut you a deal.
