If it’s Tuesday, it must be time for an AOD post.
Last month, AOD got together for the first time in 8 years to celebrate the release of Dave Scott’s book “If it’s Tuesday this must be Walla Walla: The Wacky History of Adrenalin OD”, which is a hilarious chronicle of not only AOD but the early punk scene in NY/NJ. Dave put a lot of work into the book, pulling from his own surprisingly lucid memories along with a network of old friends’ accounts which makes it a much more detailed account of events than the usual oral history. I laughed out loud a lot while reading it. Available through DiWulf publishing.
Enough of the sales pitch, on to the performance. I think that these 2 performances were better than the 2014 reunion, and some of that had to do with the preparation. Dave (and I assume the rest of the band) practiced for a couple of months ahead of the show and you could really tell.
Unfortunately, the video suffers a bit from lighting challenges. The sound/light man was the highest person actually working a show that I had ever seen and it seems that he forgot to turn on the main stage lights until the last 5 min of the show. So we got red lights which caused my cameras to freak out a bit- I had to dial down the exposure on the G60 so Paul would not overexpose. Get a tan, wouldya?. We did our best. It sounds good- the 3 source mix sounds pretty nice.
